Although students of color have experienced gains in college access and success across the nation, men of color continue to be underrepresented at US postsecondary institutions. When compared to their peers, men of color continue to lag in metrics such as college participation, persistence, and graduation. According to data, men of color often feel disconnected from the institution they attend because of a variety of hurdles ranging from feelings of isolation in their classrooms and limited social-emotional support from faculty and staff to issues related to systemic racism and racial microaggressions.
This webinar will bring together a panel of experts and practitioners who will provide practical approaches to improving the higher education outcomes for men of color. Presenters will share scalable programs and strategies that can help integrate academic and social support services to improve the academic success of men of color.
