Round Rock, TX — TG, also known as Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation, announced today that it has changed its name to Trellis Company (Trellis). Trellis Company will remain a nonprofit corporation with a focus on customer service outsourcing services, financial coaching, and helping student borrowers successfully repay their student loans.

“We chose the name Trellis as it reflects our passion for providing services that help students, colleges, and business customers achieve better outcomes,” said Renard Johnson, Interim President and CEO. “We’re continuing to build out innovative strategies to help students navigate the complexities of higher education.”

Trellis Company’s business services will expand to support additional government agencies and the private sector. “We are energized about our future and our ability to help a broader range of customers. The name Trellis helps us communicate the exciting path forward,” said Renard.

Current students, colleges, and customers will experience very little impact from the name change beyond the new Trellis logo and website. Trellis will continue actively supporting student loan borrowers who have loans with TG.

If student borrowers have questions about their TG loan or the name change to Trellis Company, they are encouraged to contact the company at (800) 222-6297. The call center is available Monday through Thursday (8 a.m. to 9 p.m. CT) and Friday (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT).
